The final task for Creative Drawing course is drawing dragon. Here is my final artwork.

Week 12 - Major Artworks

First of all, I would like to introduce some of my favorite hobbies. They are nature drawing such as farm, barn, rural escape, etc. And now after I have learn how to paint, nature is my first thought. The are 2 main reasons I chose to paint these. First, I consider nature is one of the best beauty in the world. I love to bring them into art. Second, nature brings memories of my young age where I used to live and born in.

Cottage sketch - Perspective drawing

The sketch above, figure 1, is the first step and idea of paint. I am good at drawing, but not painting. So I use perspective drawing at first, and paint it into color from that drawing by using watercolor.

Some people may ask me why I chose painting nature rather than creating character or fantasy. I can designing characters digitally and it is easier than painting, and it is my answer to the questions.

Figure no.5 bellow is my imagination picture. I didn't start with any sketches before paint this sunset in horizon. I start paint it out by thinking of perspective which I had learned from class.

My character design is my guinea pig pet. I use watercolor to paint and permanent marker to draw its shape.  

Week 10 - Cartoon Standees

At first, I draw a guinea pig which one of my lovely pet. Then, I stick my drawing on a thick cardboard and cut its shape. I made it stand and display with classmates' cartoon show.

This storyboard is about a cheating in an exam. At the moment I draw only 3 frame sequences. That's mean the story is still continue.

This drawing is leaded by vanishing point and horizon. By using these techniques I can draw perspective perfectly.

Week 7 - Composition

Fibonacci Spiral

On week 8 we had learn the rules of composition such as rules of thirds, golden section, fibonacci spiral (as figure 1), open & closed composition, as well as positive and negative space.

Drawing own hand

Drawing my own hand is a task for week 7. I had taken plenty pictures of my hand by mobile phone and choose 2 of them and do my best to draw on toned paper with 3 color pencils.

Characters drawing

Inside the handout, the little fox is another task that I chose to draw. On toned grey, I used up to 4 colors to get my little fox done.

Week 6 - Cubeecraft Character Design

Cubee Minion

This is another kind of art designing a character by using colorpencil drawing on a template paper. After finish the sketches, we cut its shapes by using scalpel, metal ruler and scissor.
